Oppo K12x: Budget 5G with 45W Charging

Oppo has launched the K12x, a new budget-friendly Android smartphone that brings 5G connectivity and fast charging to the affordable segment. Released in August 2024, it aims to deliver essential modern features without a high price tag.
Overview
The Oppo K12x is an entry-level to mid-range device featuring a large display, a capable MediaTek chipset, and a focus on battery life with rapid charging support. It runs the latest Android 14 out of the box with Oppo's ColorOS 14 skin.
Design & Display
The phone features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling. The resolution is 720x1604 pixels, resulting in a 264 PPI density. The screen can reach a peak brightness of 1000 nits, improving visibility outdoors. It's protected by Panda Glass and has an 85.2% screen-to-body ratio. The design is sleek at 7.7mm thick and weighs 186 grams, available in Blue and Violet colors.
Performance & Hardware
At its core is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, built on a 6nm process. It has an octa-core CPU (2x Cortex-A76 & 6x Cortex-A55) and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Users can choose between 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM paired with 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which is expandable via a microSDXC card slot.
Camera
The camera system is straightforward. The rear dual-camera setup includes a 32MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. It can record video at 1080p at 30 or 60 fps. For selfies, there is an 8MP front-facing camera that also records 1080p video at 30fps.
Battery & Charging
A large 5100mAh battery powers the device, supporting 45W wired charging. Oppo advertises that this can charge the phone from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes. It also supports USB Power Delivery.
Software & Features
The phone ships with Android 14 and Oppo's ColorOS 14 user interface. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor provides security, and other sensors include an accelerometer, compass, and proximity sensor.
Connectivity & Network
Connectivity is a key feature, with support for 5G networks on multiple bands (n1, n3, n5, n8, n28, n40, n41, n77). It also has dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB Type-C 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Notably, it does not have NFC. The phone is rated IP54 for dust and splash resistance.
