Overview
Oppo has officially launched the Reno12 Pro, a mid-range smartphone that combines premium features with an affordable price point. Released on June 18, 2024, this device stands out with its AI-enhanced camera system, powerful MediaTek chipset, and impressive charging capabilities.
Design & Display
The Reno12 Pro features a sleek design with a glass back, plastic frame, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front. Weighing just 180g with a thickness of 7.4mm, it offers a comfortable grip. The device comes in Brown, Gold, Silver, and a special Manish Malhotra Edition.
Its 6.7-inch AMOLED display delivers vibrant visuals with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1080 × 2412 pixel resolution, and 1200 nits peak brightness. The screen supports HDR10+ and covers 89.4% of the front panel with minimal bezels.
Performance & Hardware
At its core, the Reno12 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy chip built on a 4nm process. This octa-core processor combines four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.5GHz with four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The device comes with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and offers either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, expandable via microSDXC.
Camera
The triple camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide shooter with a 112-degree field of view. The front features a 50MP selfie camera. Both systems support AI-enhanced photography and 4K video recording with electronic stabilization.
Battery & Charging
A 5000mAh battery powers the device, supported by 80W wired charging that can reach 47% in just 18 minutes and full charge in 46 minutes. The phone also supports reverse wired charging for other devices.
Software & Features
The Reno12 Pro runs Android 14 with ColorOS 14.1 and is promised three major Android updates. Additional features include an under-display fingerprint sensor, IP65 dust and water resistance, and Bluetooth BeaconLink technology with a 200-meter range.
Connectivity
The device supports comprehensive 5G connectivity across multiple bands, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and multiple navigation systems including GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo.
