The Samsung Galaxy A90 5G delivers flagship Snapdragon 855 performance and 5G connectivity at a mid-range price point, featuring a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display and triple camera system.

Introduction
Samsung's Galaxy A90 5G brought flagship-level performance to the mid-range segment when it launched in September 2019. As one of the first affordable 5G smartphones, it offered impressive specs including a Snapdragon 855 chipset, Super AMOLED display, and versatile camera system at a competitive price point around €400.
Design & Display
The Galaxy A90 5G features a premium build with Gorilla Glass 6 on both front and back, framed by aluminum. Available in black and white, the device measures 164.8 x 76.4 x 8.4 mm and weighs 206 grams.
Its 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display delivers vibrant colors and deep blacks with a 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen boasts approximately 86.1% screen-to-body ratio with minimal bezels, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.
Performance & Hardware
At its core, the Galaxy A90 5G is powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset built on 7nm technology. The octa-core CPU configuration includes:
- 1x 2.84 GHz Cortex-A76 core
- 3x 2.42 GHz Cortex-A76 cores
- 4x 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 cores
This is paired with the Adreno 640 GPU and either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage options include 128GB of fast UFS 3.0 storage, expandable via microSDXC card.

The triple camera system on the rear consists of:
- 48MP main sensor with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF
- 8MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 12mm equivalent
- 5MP depth sensor for portrait effects
The camera supports 4K video recording at 30fps and features gyro-EIS for stabilization. For selfies, there's a 32MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture that captures 1080p video at 30fps.
Battery & Charging
A 4500mAh lithium-polymer battery powers the device, supporting 25W wired fast charging. The non-removable battery provides all-day usage for most users.
Software & Features
The phone originally launched with Android 9.0 Pie with Samsung's One UI, but is upgradable to Android 11. It includes Samsung DeX support for desktop-like experiences and features an under-display fingerprint sensor among other standard sensors.
Connectivity & Network
As the name suggests, 5G connectivity is a key feature, supporting n41 and n78 bands. The device also supports comprehensive 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE networks globally. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C 3.1, NFC, and GPS with multiple satellite systems.
