OPPO has launched the A3, a new budget-friendly smartphone that combines a large 120Hz display with 5G connectivity. Released in August 2024, this device offers solid specifications at an affordable price point of ₹13,499, making it an attractive option in the competitive budget smartphone market.

The OPPO A3 features a sleek design measuring 165.7 × 76 × 7.7mm and weighing 187g. It comes in Blue and Red color options and carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. The device sports a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with a 720 × 1604 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1000 nits peak brightness. While the pixel density is modest at 264 ppi, the high refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling and responsive touch experience.

At its core, the OPPO A3 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset built on a 6nm process. This octa-core processor features two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz, paired with the ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The phone offers multiple configurations with 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, expandable via microSDXC card.

Camera

The camera system includes a triple rear setup headed by a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF. It's accompanied by a 0.08MP auxiliary lens. The front features a dual camera setup with a 5MP wide-angle sensor for selfies. Both front and rear cameras can record 1080p video at 30fps, with the rear camera also supporting 60fps recording.

The device is equipped with a substantial 5100mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging. According to OPPO's claims, the charging technology can take the battery from 0 to 50% in approximately 30 minutes, providing quick power top-ups when needed.

The device includes a loudspeaker and retains the increasingly rare 3.5mm headphone jack, catering to users who prefer wired audio accessories. However, it does not include an FM radio receiver.
