Oppo A60

Overview

Oppo has unveiled the A60, a new budget-friendly smartphone that combines a large display with reliable performance. Released in April 2024, this device offers a balanced feature set for everyday users who prioritize battery life and smooth display performance.

Design & Display

The Oppo A60 features a sleek design measuring 165.7mm tall and 7.7mm thin, weighing a comfortable 186g. Available in blue and purple color options, the phone carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Its 6.67-inch IPS LCD display offers a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations, though the resolution remains at HD+ (720 × 1604 pixels). With a peak brightness of 950 nits, the screen should remain visible in most lighting conditions.

Performance & Hardware

Under the hood, the Oppo A60 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset built on a 6nm process. This octa-core processor is paired with 8GB of RAM and offers either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable via microSD card.

While not designed for heavy gaming, this configuration provides sufficient power for everyday tasks, social media, and multimedia consumption.

Camera

The camera system includes a dual rear setup featuring a 50MP main sensor with PDAF and an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor for portrait effects. The front-facing camera uses an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls.

Both front and rear cameras can record video at 1080p resolution with 30fps capability, suitable for basic video recording needs.

Battery & Charging

A substantial 5000mAh battery powers the Oppo A60, providing all-day usage for most users. The device supports 45W wired charging, which Oppo claims can charge the phone from 0-50% in approximately 30 minutes.

Software & Features

The phone ships with Android 14 out of the box, customized with Oppo's ColorOS 15 interface. The software experience includes various customization options and features typical of Oppo's smartphone lineup.

Connectivity

The Oppo A60 supports 4G LTE connectivity but does not include 5G capabilities. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C 2.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device also features stereo speakers for enhanced audio playback.
