Oppo A80 Delivers 5G and 120Hz Display for €200

Oppo has launched the A80, a new budget-friendly smartphone that brings 5G connectivity and premium features to the affordable segment. Priced at just €200, this device offers impressive specifications including a high refresh rate display, capable cameras, and long-lasting battery life.
Design & Display
The Oppo A80 features a sleek design measuring 165.8mm tall, 76.1mm wide, and just 7.7mm thick, weighing 186 grams. It's available in Black and Purple color options and carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.
The device sports a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and animations. While the resolution is 720 × 1604 pixels (264 PPI), the screen reaches up to 1000 nits peak brightness for good outdoor visibility and is protected by Panda Glass.
Performance & Hardware
At the heart of the Oppo A80 is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset built on a 6nm process. The octa-core processor features two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz, paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
The phone comes in multiple configurations: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, or 12GB RAM with 256GB storage using UFS 2.2 technology. Storage is expandable via microSDXC card for additional space.
Camera System
The Oppo A80 features a dual-camera setup on the rear headed by a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF. It's accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor for portrait effects. The camera supports HDR, panorama modes, and can record 1080p video at 30 or 60fps.
For selfies and video calls, there's an 8MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture that also records 1080p video at 30fps.
Battery & Charging
Powering the device is a substantial 5100mAh battery that should easily last through a full day of use. When needed, the phone supports 45W wired charging that can replenish 50% of the battery in just 30 minutes according to Oppo's claims.
Software & Features
The Oppo A80 runs Android 14 out of the box with Oppo's ColorOS 15 skin on top. The company promises an upgrade path to Android 15. The phone includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and various sensors including accelerometer, compass, and proximity sensor.
Connectivity
As a 5G-capable device, the Oppo A80 supports a wide range of 5G bands (n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n26, n28, n38, n40, n41, n66, n77, n78) along with comprehensive 4G LTE coverage. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS with multiple satellite systems, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port with USB On-The-Go support.
Audio & Multimedia
The phone retains the increasingly rare 3.5mm headphone jack alongside a loudspeaker for audio playback. Unfortunately, it doesn't include an FM radio receiver.
